Deeptech Startup

Deeptech startup Nibertex, a pioneer in nanofiber technology and PFAS-free waterproof breathable membranes, has successfully closed its pre-Series A funding round. The round saw participation from Foxmont Capital Partners, ADB Ventures—the impact investment arm of the Asian Development Bank—and several prominent family offices across the region.

This funding will enable Nibertex to scale production capacity and expand its market reach beyond consumer textiles into high-performance sectors, including protective textiles, automotive ventilation, healthcare, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

A Deeptech Startup Driving Sustainable Innovation

Nibertex has revolutionized electrospinning technology, producing PFAS-free electrospun polyurethane (ePU) membranes—a breakthrough that addresses the global demand for eco-friendly, high-performance materials. With regulatory bans on PFAS chemicals in textiles across the EU, California, and New York, global brands are urgently seeking safer alternatives.

“This pre-Series A funding is a testament to the trust our investors place in our technology and the potential of our market,” said Jaemin Park, co-founder of Nibertex. “The demand for sustainable, high-performance materials has never been higher, and this investment allows us to accelerate production and meet the growing needs of our clients across multiple industries.”

Nibertex’s PFAS-free membranes deliver unmatched waterproofing and breathability for technical textiles, making them an essential solution for global brands navigating stricter environmental regulations. The startup operates two advanced manufacturing plants in the Philippines, demonstrating its ability to meet the growing global demand for sustainable materials.

Nibertex’s Expansion into High-Value Deeptech Sectors

With increasing demand from leading textile brands, Nibertex is expanding into firefighter fabrics, professional applications, and high-value industrial textiles. The deeptech startup is also leveraging its electrospinning expertise for emerging applications in mattresses, automotive materials, and healthcare solutions.

ADB Ventures’ participation highlights the growing investment interest in sustainable deeptech startups.
“Nibertex’s technology supports the global shift towards safer and more sustainable materials,” said Charles Cole Navarro of ADB Ventures. “By eliminating PFAS and delivering high-performance waterproof breathable membranes, Nibertex is addressing a critical global challenge. We look forward to supporting its growth as it expands beyond textiles into new industries.”

Investor Confidence in Nibertex’s Growth Trajectory

Investors have reaffirmed their confidence in Nibertex’s rapid growth and technological impact.
“We are very happy to have worked closely with ADB Ventures on this round, which highlights proof of Nibertex’s impact,” said Jelmer Ikink, Founding Partner at Foxmont Capital Partners. “The growth and potential Nibertex has shown over the last quarters have exceeded our expectations, and we are proud to have made a follow-on commitment to fuel Nibertex’s growth.”

The new funding will be deployed to:

  • Scale production lines at Nibertex’s second manufacturing facility
  • Expand R&D efforts for professional and industrial textiles
  • Enhance capacity to meet future demand in emerging deeptech applications

Positioning for Series A and Future Growth

Having secured its pre-Series A funding, Nibertex is now setting its sights on a Series A round in 2025. The company aims to further scale production capacity in response to surging demand while continuing to lead in sustainable, high-performance nanofiber technology.
